Happy Homemaker Monday

From our birthday picnic dinner at the park.

{weather outside:}

Cloudy and chilly after a hot and humid weekend. Rain is in the forecast but we haven't seen any yet.

{making me happy:}

My green nails. (Essie's Mojito Madness to be exact.) I don't paint my nails often but when I do it makes me smile just to look at them. :)

{menu this week:}

monday: Quesadillas, Guacamole, Tortilla Chips & Salad
tuesday: Apricot Glazed Pork with Rice, Green Beans & Crusty Bread
wednesday: Leftovers
thursday: Ham & Cheese Melts with Sweet Potato Fries & Salad
friday: Chef Salad & Crusty Bread

{looking around my house:}

Pretty messy but I've been tackling the laundry situation instead of cleaning so I'm okay with turning a blind eye for now!

{today's to-do list:}

~pre-k: Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons
~4 loads of laundry (I'm really behind! :)
~iron
~fold
~plan menu
~vacuum
~mop

{looking forward to this week:}

A three day weekend with NO plans except hanging out with my family. :)

{currently reading:}

Rose Harbor in Bloom by Debbie Macomber
Little House in the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder (with 3-year-old)

{lesson learned:}

To be more flexible and let it go when things do go as I had planned.

{on my mind:}

Pride in my 'baby' sister who graduated with her BS in Nursing this weekend. She has grown up into such an amazing young woman that I feel blest to have her in my life and in the lives of my children. Her future patients will be blest by her tender and compassionate care. It is an honor to call her my sister and best friend.

{verse:}

"All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages as the Spirit enabled them."
-Acts 2:4

Preparing for one of my favorite Feast Days: Pentecost!
