~ capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~

{pretty}

My sister-in-law came up for the day yesterday and made these beautiful ornaments with my boys!

{happy}

M & M's, packaged cakes, candy canes, one dollar bills and fruit snacks brought giant smiles to my boys' faces Sunday morning. Watching them each drop their dollar bills into the collection basket at mass two hours later made my husband and me smile.

{funny}

What was funny about this? Keeping my boys away from their goodies until my husband woke up on Sunday morning. Definitely preferable when Saint Nicholas Day lands on a weekday.

{real}

Boys + Outside = Dirt! Dirty boots! Dirty socks! Dirty pants! Dirty coats! Dirty fingernails! I could go on... ;)

  1. Those ornaments are treasure. I love the realness of dirty back doors, having had quite a few in my day. I used to wonder if it was worth sending them out, but it truly is! Great post.

    Your family is blessed, my friend. : )

  3. Such sweet photos! There may be mud on the boots and shoes but always focus on the precious gifts inside those shoes that come through the door each day :-) Love the ornaments, homemade are the best kind! Have a wonderful day!

  5. Sorry I've been busy and absent my dear! I love seeing these windows into your world. Such sweet moments - and of course the realism of mud and mess. We've had nothing but that here too. So tired of rain and mud! It's not March for goodness sake! We need just a smidge colder and it'd be lovely frosty snow. ::sigh:: P.S. Goodies coming soon!! They said they should arrive Tuesday I think. Yay!! (2 packages FYI). xoox
