Happy Homemaker Monday

Last shot with that "Christmas tree glow".... until next year. :)

{weather outside}

The fact that it went up to 60 degrees yesterday afternoon is making the 28 degree morning we've woken up to a bit more difficult to bear. However, snow is on the forecast for tomorrow so that adds a nice element of excitement to these low temperatures.

{around my home:}

I am sitting in my usual nursing chair in the living room watching the boys eat their breakfast of oatmeal, fried eggs, and orange juice. Since we had such a nice and early start to the day, we've already finished our lessons and it's only half past seven! We were home most of the weekend so I was able to catch up on laundry, pick up some groceries, keep the house straightened, and even mop the kitchen floor so I'm feeling very organized this Monday morning!

{menu this week:}

monday: Autumn Chicken
tuesday: Spaghetti Squash, Meatballs & Asparagus
wednesday: Creamy Chicken Soup & Biscuits
thursday: Turkey Burritos
friday: Winter Minestrone & Crusty Rolls

{today's to-do list:}

~ 2 loads of laundry
~ finish putting Christmas decorations away
~ empty dishwasher
~ pay bills
~ upload photos

{on my nightstand:}

Finding Father Christmas by Robin Jones Gunn
The Long Winter by Laura Ingalls Wilder

{in my craft basket:}

Baby Blanket

{making me happy:}

Listening to my boys play. Lately, with the new influx of Christmas toys, it's been "Hospital," "Christmas Pageant," "Building," "Dragon verses T-Rex," and "Saint Nicholas."

{thankful for:}

60 degree temperatures in January! Even if it was only for one day we thoroughly enjoyed going for a nice run together and playing outside in the backyard with the chickens yesterday.

{verse:}

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
- Joshua 1:9

  3. Wow, 60 degrees must have been wonderful! I can't complain too much as we've had pretty mild temps for this winter not counting Saturday night/Sunday. I think that picture at the top of this post is begging to be displayed with a frame. What a great photo. Hope you have a wonderful week!

  4. Hello Laura, You've given me a great idea for a book to read on the airplane later this month. I'm going to pull out my daughters stash of Little House on the Prairie books. I so loved those in elementary school and it's high time I read them again. Your menu for the week sounds delicious! Have a wonderful week.

  6. Blessings dear Friend!! Love the final Christmas glow shot. So sad when it's over, isn't it?

    I can't even imagine 60* right now - I'd sure gobble it up!! I'm craving warm sun. ::sigh:: Would be truly energizing.

    Hope you get pretty snow if it has to be cold! ;)

    Have a wonderful rest of the week! xoxo
