~ capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~

{pretty}

My sister, aunt and I divided the flowers leftover from my Grandmother's funeral between ourselves. (Once the burial was complete, they were headed towards the trash!) I donated one large arrangement to my parish and got to see them during Mass on Sunday. I kept one small vase for myself which I separated into smaller bouquets. Now I get to enjoy this little reminder of my Grandmother throughout the day.

{happy}

Checking the coop for warm, fresh eggs is the highlight of our day! The excitement my boys feel over finding one there is worth all the work that goes into keeping chickens.

{funny}

When you assign your four-year-old the task of cleaning the table after meals, this is what you get. :)

{real}

He read that sentence all by himself! It was the first time he realized that he can read books other than his actual reading lesson book. I am SO proud of him.

  3. Beautiful flowers. My grandmother loved pink roses and after she passed away last fall I bought a pink rise bush and planted it as a reminder of her.

  5. Your flowers are beautiful and so full - just like your love for her I'm sure. ;)

    I remember when my grandparents had chickens and thinking that getting eggs was the coolest thing ever!! I can just imagine your boys' enthusiasm there.

    Love that you have a sweet helper (in whichever capacity - Lol) and you're getting a big reader too!! What exciting worlds will continue to open to him. That wonderful brand new joy of knowing you can really read something. I remember it feeling like I was handed keys to the kingdom.

    Keep enjoying these precious days my dear Laura. Blessings to you! xoxo
