~ capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~
{pretty}
There is a little zoo about thirty minutes from us and, because it's not in a major city, it is just the right size and price for our family. It is located on a mountain so, in addition to being quite the workout, it is lush, beautiful and offers picturesque views.

No clue what kind of animal that was but, because he was resting at their level, just next to the fence, they were content to look at him long enough for me to snap a few photos of both boys together.
{funny}
Considering that we have a flock in our own backyard, my husband and I laugh at the fact that whenever we go to any sort of farm or petting zoo, their favorite animal is always the chickens!
{real}
Once he saw his big brother mount the pony, there wasn't even a hesitation in my two-year-old when his turn arrived. I was proud of him but also a little tiny bit sad that my Mama's boy was so eager to leave my side! Oh, motherhood can be so bittersweet.

Oooohh - what's better than a fun family outing to the Zoo!! (not much) Love the photos and seeing the excitement and joy - even over chickens. Lol!
ReplyDeletePony rides too...a perfect day in anyone's book. Blessings to you and your adorable family for a wonderful weekend my Friend! xoxo
Looks like a wonderful day spent with your family! Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat's hilarious about the chickens! I love the simple things that kids get excited about. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is the sweetest day! : )
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of them squatting down together to look into that cage. So sweet. Motherhood is bittersweet, but the sweet makes the bitter not so bitter. = )
