~ capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~

{pretty}

Sliced peaches make even a cracked and crumbly pie crust appear beautiful! (Not to mention taste like heaven!)

{happy}

I'm pretty certain food is my love language. I was so excited to surprise my sister on her birthday with our mom's cream cheese cookies (a family favorite) that I practically jumped out of bed at 5:30 on Sunday morning to make them. The best part? I had company! My oldest was just as excited to get up and bake as I was!

{funny}

Birthday party decorations are serious business when you're four: a whole lot of time and concentration went into cutting, folding, coloring and arranging each individual piece of confetti.

{real}

It was inevitable. I guess we visited the "big dog party" one too many times. And in case you can make out my dad's 'impeccable' handwriting, Rooney is my parents' golden retriever. ;)

  1. That photo of the well-loved book brings back memories, although I can't seem to remember the book's exact title now :-(. The birthday party must have gone well with the happy-looking confetti :-).

    1. "Go Dog, Go" is the title. :) Yes, it brought back many happy memories when I sat down to read it to my oldest for the very first time!
