The boys' Independence Day outfits washed, folded and ready to go the night before.
Hot and hazy, just the way I like it! Clouds rolled in just in time for naps and they're expected to stick around for the rest of the day.
{making me happy:}
Once again, my husband made it possible for me to get some more sewing time in over the weekend and I enjoyed it so much. Since I was still stitching away when my oldest woke up from his nap, he came in and watched me work. I love that he is so fascinated by it!
{menu:}
monday: London Broil, Tossed Salad & Macaroni Salad
tuesday: Steak, Cheddar & Arugula Paninis & Sweet Potato Fries
wednesday: Macaroni & Cheese tossed with Steak & Arugula
thursday: Steak & Feta Tossed Salad & Baked Potatoes
friday: Pizza
{around my home:}
Living areas are straightened. Floors are vacuumed. Boys are sleeping. Fans are humming. Classical music is playing. Tea is brewing. As much as I love all the family time we squeeze out of every weekend, especially in the summer, there is something so peaceful about Mondays as that is when I tend to put everything back into order.
{today's to-do list:}
~vacuum
~straighten
~3 loads of laundry
~sort baby clothes
~pay bills
{looking forward to:}
Time with family.
{on my nightstand:}
~The Strong-Willed Child by Dr. James Dobson
~Rose Harbor in Bloom by Debbie Macomber
~On the Banks of Plum Creek by Laura Ingalls Wilder (with three-year-old)
{in my craft basket:}
kitchen curtains
{on my mind:}
Gratitude and prayers for our nation.
{verse:}
"Submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you."
-James 4:7

ReplyDeleteLove the festive outfits, my friend!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree...as much as I love holiday weekends, Monday and its return to normal are always a welcome sight.
Enjoy your day, my friend.
That photo of the outfits is beyond precious!! Love love love!!
ReplyDeleteI love your peaceful Mondays. I can just feel the solitude through your words, and the nap time and tea brewing.
So happy you got more sewing time in - yay for Laura time! I love your menu too and like how you stretch your steak through the week into different recipes. No waste! And lots of iron for a breast feeding Mama. ;)
Enjoy the rest of your lovely day my Friend. xo
Those 4th of July outfits are adorable! By the way, I'm eating at your house this week! Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteYour menu sounds great! I also like planning my entire week of menus at one time. Makes cooking so much easier when I know ahead of time what I'll be making.
ReplyDeleteBlessings~
