{around my house:}
Folded laundry on the kitchen table, waiting to be put away, sleeping baby rocking gently in the cradle next to me, classical music playing on the radio, watching the rain with a big mug of tea in my hand while all three boys nap and I relax on the couch.
{today's to-do list:}
~pre-k: Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons
~fold laundry
~organize back room
~put winter clothes away
~plan menu
~3 loads of laundry
~finger paint/play dough
{looking forward to this week:}
Christening Day for our sweet baby boy.
{currently reading:}
The Strong-Willed Child by Dr. James Dobson
Rose Harbor in Bloom by Debbie Macomber
Little House on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder (with three-year-old)
{lesson learned:}
We have never waited this long to baptize a child and I will never wait this long again. Most of the dates our parish offered conflicted with family obligations and I was nervous to do it too soon considering my three little ones and the fact that this would be the first time my mom wouldn't be here to help with the cooking, cleaning, and everything else that moms do but in retrospect, I would have felt up to it, even a month ago so now I know for next time!
{on my mind:}
Nursing my boys back to health. I'm the only one without a cold - even my sister caught it - so I'm counting my blessings and hoping I can escape it this time around!
{verse:}
"Take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am meek and humble of Heart."
-Matthew 11:29
Happy Monday dear Laura! Sounds like a snuggly day with the rain coming down, soft music playing, sweet boys sleeping and a cuppa. My kind of moment.
ReplyDeleteThat pie looks amazing by the way! Yum!! How exciting that the christening day is at hand. I pray all goes smoothly. If I were closer I would help you out my friend with all that busy work. I remember how those days go.
I pray also that you stay well and have a wonderful week. xoxo
Christening Day!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear all about it.
Prayers for you all, my friend! : )
Hope your boys feel better soon! Summer colds are no fun, glad you didn't get it. That pie looks wonderful. Hope you have a great week and an amazing Christening day!
ReplyDeleteHope the colds are long gone by now. Thankful for that verse, such a powerful reminder. :)
ReplyDeleteThree kids napping at the same time? You're owning this!
ReplyDeleteI just got The Strong-Willed Child, and I'm hoping it helps us with working through some behaviors with our oldest.
Hope everyone is feeling better!
